Greetings!!

Dr. Sylvia Rhue Director of Religious Affairs |
Hello everyone!! Since we last communicated we have se the dates and times for the next Black Church Summit! It will be Friday April 25th in Baltimore. Please see notice below.
This year the 3rd Annual Black Church Summit will be held in conjunction with NBJC's Cultural Event and our Leaders Conference. There will be something of interest for everyone. You should start to make plans to attend. More detailed information will follow. |
Also the past few weeks have been a busy time for activism. The anti-LGBT industry put ads in papers urging people and African Americans in particular, to support a veto of the hate crimes bill. As you can see the ads are misleading and rely on fear to make their erroneous and wrong-headed points.
NBJC, HRC and the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights placed ads in the same papers to counteract the deliberate misinformation perpetrated by Bishop Harry Jackson and the High Impact Leaders Coalition.
We know that truth, justice and he momentum of a spiritually grounded movement are on our side. We still reach out the hand of fellowship to our opponents who continue to bear false witness against LGBT people on a consistent basis. We encourage you to step into your truth and join us as we march to a justice drumbeat, fighting homophobia, racism, and sexism.
Be sure to checkout the upcoming conference on God and Gays Gathering (see below). It will be a great conference! Latest news: The God and Gays Gathering dates have been changed to Friday/Saturday Oct. 19-20, 2007.
