NBJC wants to remain in touch with your needs as a Black LGBT/SGL community. So we thought up of 5 quick questions we would like for you to answer.

For the fourth consecutive year, NBJC will have a visible presence at the annual NAACP conference being held in Cincinnati, OH, July 12-17 due to the generous support of one of our key stakeholders, the Gill Foundation.
NBJC will be distributing a collection of its authored publications: The Power of Us, The Word on Marriage for Gay People, and Understanding Black America's Gay Youth at its tradeshow booth at the Duke Engergy Center and during the following events.
NBJC will also Co-host a reception with the Gill Foundation and NAACP
during the 99th Annual NAACP Convention:
When: Wednesday, July 16th from 7-10pm
Where: Netherland Hilton, Continental Room.
What: Honoring civil rights leaders for their work to ensure equality for the LGBT community in the state of Florida.
Honorees:
Adora obi Nweze, President of the Florida NAACP and Member of the National Board of Directors
Leon Russell, Member of the National Board of Directors of the NAACP.
Event is free and open to the public

NBJC ACTION Fund Endorses
Keisha Waites for Georgia State Assembly (GA-61)
Georgia resident Keisha Waites seeks to be first African American openly gay woman legislator in the state. On Tuesday, July 15, 2008 the residents of Georgia's 61st Assembly District will have the chance to vote and stand up for change when they elect Keisha Waites as their next State Representative.
Keisha has dedicated her life to public service as both a community organizer and as an employee of the federal government. Working for the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the Department of Homeland Security's (FEMA), she has gained hands on experience critical to tackling issues that are challenges for the residents of the 61st State House District in Georgia.
