ROLE SUMMARY:
Responsible for implementing all fundraising programs and activities of the organization, planning and coordinating the fundraising efforts, developing an annual fundraising calendar and working directly with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and the Development Committee and staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:
· Serves as the chief fundraising officer for NBJC
· Assists with current fundraising efforts and the development and preliminary execution of fundraising programs for public policy, education and community events
- Administers the organization's resources while leading all fundraising plans
- Develop and implementation of marketing plans for NBJC
· Identify, cultivate, and solicit individual and business donors
· Develop and manage protocols to ensure the effective maintenance of donor information and donor acknowledgment
· Develop and maintain 2-year plan to sustaining donor (monthly contributors) program and donor data base management systems
· Develop and maintain an implementation plan for donor renewal and acquisition campaigns employing a range of communication modes including person-to-person, mail, email, and telephone
- Develop and maintain 2-year strategic plan to grow and diversify donor base
· Develop and maintain 2-year plan for membership drives including the development of promotional and educational materials and membership incentive program
· Research, identify and assist in the development of relationships with public and private foundations
· Develop and maintain plan to ensure reporting compliance for foundation grants
· Assist in donor relationships as needed
· Solicit corporate advertisements for NYANSAPO, NBJC's quarterly news and policy magazine
- Identify and assist in the development of relationships with corporate leaders to increase corporate support for NBJC's programs

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Proven development experience with similar duties preferred
- Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook); knowledge of Get Active, HTML and fundraising software required.
- Ability to take initiative, work with minimal supervision, and exercise independent judgment
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Experience working within a multi-cultural environment committed to diversity
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Comfortable personally soliciting contributions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to independently write and edit document for final submission.
